Women’s Swim & Dive Holds Top Spot After Second Day of Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women’s swim & dive team maintained its first-place position at the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday, adding 10 more top-8 finishes and bringing its point total to 896. The Bison lead second-place Fordham (726.5) by nearly 170 points .


Bucknell, which broke the school record in the 200 freestyle relay on Friday, added two more program top-10 times on Saturday.

The Bucknell 800 freestyle relay team (Sabrina Vumbacco, Sophia Donati, Jennifer Bolden, Caroline McGann) posted a 7:28.76 to finish second at the meet and rank 10th in school history. Also earning a spot in the record book was Alexandra Ritorto in the 100 breaststroke, whose 1:03.20 is fourth-best all-time and gave her a top finish in the ‘B’ finals for the event.

Caroline McGann was Bucknell’s lone third-place finisher in the 200 freestyle as she swam a 1:51.32 in the 200 freestyle. She was followed by teammate Jennifer Boldenwho clocked a 1:51.37 in the event to finish fourth.

Adding a fourth-place finish was Emma Feld in the 400 IM. The freshman posted a 4:25.54 in the event. Competing in the ‘B’ finals, Abby Doss swam the fastest 400 IM for the Bison on Saturday with a 4:24.81.

The Bison also put together a strong showing in the 100 breaststroke. Liz Dokina placed seventh in the ‘A’ finals, and Bucknell went 1-2-3 in the ‘B’ finals.

The Bucknell Invitational concludes on Sunday, Nov. 20. Events are scheduled to begin at 10 am

100 backstroke – Esme Hunter (56.34)

Seventh Place:

100 breaststroke – Liz Dokina (1:04.39)
