Shafali Verma will continue to kick off the proceedings with Mandhana while there are a number of all-rounders in the squad who will have to contribute in both the departments. There are 3 wicketkeepers in the squad and it will be a tough task for the team management to pick one in the playing XI. The young pace attack will have its task cut against the hosts.

With the next edition of the T20 World Cup set to be played in February 2023, India have the task in hand to ink on the best players and finalise the squad for the ICC event. Even though India reached the final of the previous edition, there’s a lot to be done going into the next year’s event and the preparations for the tournament will kick off today.
Before the ICC event, Team India will also be competing at Commonwealth Games but it’s a different format and the preparations for that event will start with the ODI series.

After 3 T20Is on June 23, 25 and 27, the teams are also scheduled to square off in 3 ODIs to be played on July 1, 4 and 7. The ODIs will be played in Pallekelle.
