Tim Tszyu next fight: When, where, what to know about WBO world title fight with Tony Harrison

Tim Tszyu will have a shot at the WBO super-welterweight world title in March, with a blockbuster bout against Tony Harrison confirmed for Australia.

The 28-year-old was originally scheduled to face Jermell Charlo for the undisputed title, but the champion was ruled out due to injury and is now expected to be forced to vacate the title.

Charlo is considered one of the best pound-for-pound boxers on the planet and represents a significant step up for the son of former undisputed super-lightweight champion Kostya Tszyu.

But the only man to ever give him a loss during his professional career is Harrison (29-3-1), who will now head to Australia for a shot against Tszyu.

Here’s everything you need to know about the fight.

When is Tszyu vs. Harrison?

The pair will meet on Sunday, March 12th and the Australia venue to be confirmed.

Tszyu last fought in March 2022, defeating Terrell Gausha in his first fight in the United States.

It will be just short of 12 months out of the ring for Harrison by the time fight night comes around.

Where will Tszyu vs Harrison take place?

The world title fight between Tim Tszyu and Tony Harrison will take place in Australia, with a venue to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast are the leading contenders to host the fight.

Who will win?

Tszyu will likely start as favorite, but he faces a tough assignment in Harrison.

The undefeated Australian told The Daily Telegraph he isn’t fazed by the man across the ring from him and is looking forward to the challenge.

“Every fight you take is all on the line, you’re one punch away from going back to the very bottom,” he said.

“It’s all on the line and a gamble, but this is what I do. This is boxing, it’s part of my career and I’m a fighter first.

“He was the next best available option. I’m at that stage of my career that I really don’t care who is in front of me. I’m ready to take them all out.”
