The Worcester Warriors’ house outside Gloucester Rugby stadium

A BRAVE Worcester Warriors fan has painted his home in the team’s blue and gold colors – despite living in the shadow of Gloucester Rugby’s stadium.

Andy Munn was born and raised in Worcester but now lives just a stone’s throw from Kingsholm Stadium, home of Gloucester Rugby.

A lifelong Warriors fan, Andy decided to paint his house blue and gold in homage to his team despite being a neighbor to the team’s rivals.

“I’ve pretty much supported the Warriors my entire life,” he said.

“I haven’t been able to go as much recently as I live in Gloucester and I guess I won’t be able to go anytime soon.

“The decision to paint my house this color was partly inspired by the Warriors but I also just thought it looked nice.”

Worcester Warriors were placed into administration in September 2022 and subsequently suspended from all rugby activity and relegated from the Premiership.

A consortium led by James Sandford and former Warriors chief executive Jim O’Toole is currently trying to push through the purchase of the rugby club.

On the recent difficulties facing the Warriors, Andy added: “I’m disappointed with what’s happened.

“Hopefully we will get started again soon, I’m sure it will take a few years but we’ll be back in the Premiership soon.”

The work to transform Andy’s house was completed by Malvern-based firm, WP Rendering and Plastering.

Andy lives on St Mark’s Street, located directly behind the famous Shed stand at Kingsholm.

Painting your house the colors of your arch rivals could be considered a bold move, but not for Andy.

“It doesn’t bother me,” he said.

“I’ve got a few friends who are Gloucester and it’s not been a big issue.

“Gloucester played on Saturday and I don’t think the fans even noticed!”

It perhaps helps that St Mark’s Street is known locally as Rainbow Street, meaning Andy’s home is far from out of place.

“I live with my wife and don’t worry, she knew it was the Warriors colors,” Andy added.

“We looked at a few colors and this blue just really stood out to us, and I thought well why not pair it with gold for the Warriors.”
