On Day 2 on Friday, South Africa, 233 for 4 overnight, will look to continue the good start they have made in the first Test against Bangladesh at Durban. South Africa are without six top players who have preferred to play the IPL but the home team has shown conviction to challenge a full-strength Bangladesh national team looking for its first Test win in South Africa. Bangladesh won a historic ODI series earlier on this tour. Follow here live cricket score of SA vs BAN.

Good Session For Bangladesh
81 runs came in the first session on Day 2 and South Africa lost 4 wickets in the process. Bangladesh would be happy with their bowling performance. Had there not been a 53-run stand between Temba Bavuma (93) and Keshav Maharaj (19) for the seventh wicket, the scorecard would have looked more inclined towards the visitors.

102.5 – Ebadot Hossain caught Lizaad Williams plumb in front of the stumps and umpire Marais Erasmus also raised his finger. Williams decided to review and third umpire announced it out despite the ball pitching outside leg stump. The decision-maker confused Williams as a right-handed batter. However, Erasmus guided the TV umpire to reconsider his decision as the batsman was lefty. Eventually, Williams survived.

It’s an anti-climax for Temba Bavuma. He has been dimissed on 93, just seven short of what could have been his second Test ton. It was a well-crafted innings and a three-figure mark would have done real justice to it.
Mehidy Hasan bowled an off-break and the ball hit Bavuma’s pad on the leg side before getting onto the stumps.

Temba Bavuma is certainly leading South Africa. The right-hander has been in flow on Day 2 and his partnership di lui with Keshav Maharaj will turn vital for the hosts. SA 254/6 (88)

With the second new ball due in three overs, the seamers will get help from the Day 2 pitch. The bounce will remain good and the pitch could be on the faster side today.

Temba Bavuma will be the key man for South Africa on Friday. Bavuma steadied South Africa with 53 not out before bad light ended play early on Day 1. Bavuma was supported by Kyle Verreynne (27 not out) and their unbroken 53-run stand took South Africa safely to stumps.

The Lure of IPL
The Proteas are without batsmen Aiden Markram and Rassie van der Dussen, pace bowlers Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Marco Jansen, and allrounder Dwaine Pretorius, who all opted to play in the IPL instead of the two-test series against Bangladesh.

Watch Out For Mehidy
Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s off-spin could be a key factor at Kingsmead. He was the pick of the bowlers (1 for 57 in 26 overs) and also ran out Keegan Petersen brilliantly.
