Miletic Returns to Manhattan to Lead Volleyball Program

RIVERDALE, NY – Mauro Miletic is the next head coach of the Manhattan women’s volleyball program, as announced by Director of Athletics Marianne Reilly on August 1.

“We are excited to welcome Mauro back to the Jasper family,” said Reilly. “His previous experiences here in Riverdale will benefit him and the program down the road under his guidance.”

Miletic returns to Riverdale after serving as an assistant coach for the Jaspers from 2014-2016 and most recently as a physical education and volleyball teacher at Success Academy Charter Schools.

“I am thrilled to be returning to Manhattan College as the head coach of the volleyball program, said Miletic. “I’m looking forward to developing high-level student-athletes and bringing the Jaspers back to the top of the MAAC. I want to thank you Marianne Reilly for allowing me to return to Draddy Gymnasium as a Jasper once again, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.”

As an assistant for the Jaspers, Miletic helped Manhattan post a 53-47 record over his three seasons in Riverdale. Malia McGuinness was named MAAC Player of the Year in 2014. Miletic also tutored four All-MAAC players; McGuinness (First Team, 2014), Jade Gray (Second Team, 2015), Claire Van Dyk (Second Team, 2015), and Ivana Kostic (Second Team, 2016). The Jaspers also qualified for the MAAC Tournament in 2014 and 2015, with a semifinal appearance in 2014.

Before his first stint in Riverdale, Miletic was an assistant coach at Baruch College, the head coach of the girl’s volleyball team at Leman Manhattan Prep, and served as an assistant coach in Puerto Rico for both men’s and women’s professional teams.

Miletic played professionally in Croatia, Slovenia, France, and Puerto Rico as a player. He also played in four European Cups at the club level.
