Forza Motorsport’s new deep dive promises ‘the most technically advanced racing game ever’

Forza Motorsport will be “the most technically advanced racing game ever”, according to developer Turn 10 Studios.

The next entry in the racing series was shown off in a deep dive video shared during the Xbox & Bethesda Developer_Direct showcase on Wednesday.

The new entry will mark the first mainline Forza Motorsport game on the current generation of consoles, following Forza Horizon 5 in 2021.

Forza Motorsport will feature over 500 real-world cars at launch, according to its developer.

“We’re also delivering the most modern race cars that we’ve ever featured on our roster,” said creative director Chris Esaki.

Turn 10 said the game will include over 800 unique upgrades and custom modifications.

Forza Motorsport will launch with 20 environments featuring multiple track layouts. In addition to fan favourites, five all-new-to-motorsport locations will feature in the game, including the first in South Africa – Kyalami.

Courses will “depict ten times more realistic detail, including highly detailed vegetation and overgrowth,” according to Turn 10. “With all the cutting-edge visuals, including tens of thousands of fully animated 3D spectators, each player will feel immersed in the spectacle of racing.

While Microsoft previously announced that Forza Motorsport would be released in spring 2023, the latest trailer simply says it’s coming to Xbox Series X/S, Windows, Steam and Cloud Gaming later this year.
