Fans react as Zion Clark, wrestler born without legs, wins pro MMA debut

Zion Clark created history when he won his debut MMA bout against Eugene Murray at the Gladiator Challenge event this past weekend.

The 25-year-old suffers from a rare birth disorder that caused him to be born without legs. However, that did not stop him from securing a decisive unanimous decision on his MMA debut.

As news of this incredible feat spread on social media, MMA fans weighed in with their opinions and shared their thoughts on Twitter. While many were full of praise for the disabled fighter’s grit, some doubted the legitimacy of his win.

For example, user @jordanunbroken2 stated his reservation on Zion Clark’s win:

“I don’t know man. I feel like regardless of the outcome, his opponent loses. He bends down and decks him, he beats up a guy with no legs. He lets the guy beat him, his record is tarnished and he got beat up but a guy with no legs.”

@espnmma @gcmmafights @bigz97 I don’t know man. I feel like regardless of the outcome, his opponent looses. He bends down and decks him, he beat up a guy with no legs. He lets the guy beat him, his record is tarnished and he got beat up but a guy with no legs.

@kjcombat asked:

“Genuinely curious on what weight class he fights in, like he could be a Flyweight probably.. right?”

@bygjambino said:

“Dudes a human cheat code lol, can’t even get a full mount on the dude.”

User @ktrain061370 asked a technical question about Clark.

Here are a few other reactions from Twitter users below:

@espnmma @gcmmafights @bigz97 Nah, u cant win vs this guy it’s a lose-lose situation no kicking, plus if you win everyone will act like it means nothing, i bet the other guy just lost on purpose.

However, other users like @BigDogDPA praised Clark, tweeting:

“Size doesn’t matter what matter is your mentally and strength is what guides you to motivate yourself to lead the result into success.”
