State Tennis

Community School’s Lily Dounchis won the No. 1 singles team title in a three-set nail-biter, downing St. Andrews’ Santianna Chrysopoulo, 4-6, 7-6 (12-10), 10-3, Wednesday.

The Gulf Coast boys tennis team opened Class 4A state play with a 5-0 win over West Boca Raton. The Sharks doubles teams of Davide Procacci and Christopher Wilson and Ivan Kisic and Hudson Fry won 6-3, 6-1 and 6-2, 7-5, respectively. In singles, Procacci won No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1, Fry won at No. 3 6-2, 6-0 and Alex Mazza won at fifth singles 6-1, 6-0.
