It’s fair to say that Chelsea fans have had better weeks. Over the past month, the Blues have been the headline news around the world with billionaire owner Roman Abramovich being sanctioned by the UK government and more recently the EU.
Freezing his assets has had major implications on the club and the day to day running has stretched the Blues to the limits. Complications around selling tickets, merchandise and even getting to games are major issues to have arisen in recent weeks.
This has put huge question marks in Chelsea’s ability to make moves in the summer transfer window but fans will have to hope that the ongoing situation cleared before the summer with a takeover. Whilst Thomas Tuchel has reassured fans that it won’t affect them on the pitch, Chelsea will go into their crucial Champions League tie with Real Madrid coming off the back of a humiliating 4-1 home loss against Brentford.

Barcelona interested in Rudiger with Araujo unlikely to leave
Barcelona’s interest in Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger will not alter their decision on Ronald Araujo’s future, according to Fabrizio Romano. Chelsea are one of many clubs said to be interested in the Barca center-back, but the La Liga giants are now seemingly keen on keeping their man, as well as bringing in Rudiger.
The German has been a standout performer for Chelsea this year, but looks set to leave the club with a contract extension not being agreed on. Chelsea are expected to target a number of center-backs this summer, with Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta all potentially leaving as free agents once their contract expires on July 1.
