Case baseball tops Wareham, Durfee wins 10th match

SWANSEA – The Joseph Case baseball team jumped out to an early lead and held on to beat league opponent Wareham, 6-5, at Joseph Case High School.

The Cardinals (9-4; 5-3 SCC) scored five runs in the first inning and an insurance run in the fourth inning.

Ryland Pacheco got the win on the hill, pitching the complete game. He scattered six hits, three earned runs while striking out eight.

Offensively, Cooper Khoury went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for Case. Christian Chapman finished with a double and two RBI. Aidan Bates had a hit, a walk, scored a pair of runs and stole a base.

The Cardinals host Bourne on Friday.

Westport 22, Holbrook 0

The Wildcats scored 10 runs in the top of the first and cruised to a mercy-rule win over Holbrook.
