Baker juggles volleyball, basketball, lacrosse and academics at Wachusett

HOLDEN — Three-sport student athletes at Wachusett Regional High School are not as rare as one might think, but one who goes beyond and embodies the characteristics for which coaches seek — intensity, strong leadership, mental toughness and team-first approach, to name a few — is rising senior Logan Baker, who projects as a standout in volleyball, basketball and lacrosse in the upcoming seasons.

What makes this talented student-athlete so coveted is her superior work ethic, coaches say. Be it practice or games, Baker espouses hard work and sacrifice for the benefit of both herself and her teammates.

Having such a demanding schedule between academics and sports can be a challenge, but it is one that she openly embraces.

“I like not having a break and going from sport to sport,” Baker explained. “It keeps me busy, and I like having something constant in my schedule. I would say that I do get tired at the end of seasons, especially basketball because it’s so constant and we practice so long. I’m always sad to leave a season. I miss what the team had, especially with seniors leaving. Transitioning from basketball to lacrosse works well because we do a lot of running in basketball.
